Environmental Reviews in Special Areas
The Special Areas Board implemented the Environmental Review (ER) program on January 1, 2010. Marquis Alliance performs ERs in accordance with Special Areas Guidelines.
The ER consists of a site-specific assessment and related information searches to compile a comprehensive overview of the environmental conditions at proposed industrial and commercial development locations.
The assessment evaluates land use, landscape, soil, vegetation, fish, wildlife, species at risk, wetlands and water bodies, as well as cultural and historical resources. A project description, conservation and reclamation plan is completed as a component of the ER.
