Indian Oil and Gas Canada Audit

Indian Oil and Gas Canada Audit

The Indian Oil & Gas Canada (IOGC) manages all oil and gas resources on First Nation land across Canada. To operate energy facilities on First Nation land, it is necessary to have an agreement in place with the IOGC.

As a component of the terms of surface agreements, the lessee must have an audit completed 1 year after the agreement has been executed. Further audits must be completed every 5 years for surface leases.

For right of way agreements, an audit must be completed 1 year after the pipeline has been installed.

These are compliance audits, used to ensure that the environmental terms and conditions, which are attached to the applicable surface agreement, are being met. We complete and submit independent, signed audit reports to the IOGC.
