Pre-disturbance Site Assessments

Pre-disturbance Site Assessments

Pre-disturbance / pre-site assessments are completed prior to the start of construction. A pre-disturbance assessment allows operators to avoid environmental sensitive areas, determine proximity to any water bodies and provide background or baseline data. Pre-site assessments also identify any non-compliance issues, which are outlined to the client prior to construction to allow for the implementation of avoidance or mitigative measures.

Marquis Alliance offers a range of pre-site assessments. The basic assessment collects land use and topographical information, identifies water bodies, searches for any sensitive wildlife or habitats, completes detailed soil profiling, as well as a vegetation assessment. Construction recommendations are also provided.

In conjunction with the basic pre-site assessment, we can complete thorough field screening of soil, water and samples, which can be submitted to an accredited lab for a more in-depth analysis. Clubroot investigation, reporting and Water Act applications can be completed as part of the pre-site assessment.

Data collected during the pre-site assessment can also be used to create spill management plans, to plan for sediment and erosion concerns and to prepare an environmental protection plan.
